Sanctu, The Amazon Regeneration Platform, is on a mission to bring the Amazon back while creating prosperity for its people. We empower small farmers to regenerate their lands and increase their income ten-fold through our platform, offering project design, financing, technical assistance, and market access. Together, we’re building the world’s largest regenerative farm—without owning any land—fighting deforestation and amplifying global carbon capture.

We're gathering an extraordinary team to tackle one of the world's toughest challenges, and we’re looking for a world-class Principal Software Engineer to design and implement technology solutions that scale our impact and bring this mission to life.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and develop core services and platform infrastructure
• Drive the technical vision and roadmap for Sanctu’s platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
• Lead and mentor a growing team of engineers, fostering an innovative and collaborative environment
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and business teams to translate goals into technical solutions
• Implement best practices for software development, including CI/CD, code reviews, and testing
• Work with data science and analytics teams to build AI-powered tools that aid farmers and promote forest regeneration

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on scalable web platforms
• Proven expertise in backend and infrastructure design, ideally with experience in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Proficiency in languages like Python, JavaScript, and experience with modern frameworks (e.g., Django, Node.js)
• Strong understanding of data security, distributed systems, and API design
• Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to guide and inspire engineering teams
• Fluency in English; Portuguese is a plus
